Most of the websites just boast about the less oil needed for frying chips in Actifry. So can it deep fry as well like other deep fryers or is it just good for chips?

My wife is Japanese and would like a nice deep fryer for making tempura. What is the nicest one that is easy to clean. Anything I should look for? Small family of three so we don’t need anything big.

It had some very stuck-on food in the crevices, etc. so I soaked it in vinegar and water and now it’s rusted. Can it be cleaned, and how? Is it safe to use after cleaning? Should I "season" it?

We have a fry daddy that has a lid that closes and the basket that lowers. The top lid can be taken off, the non-stick "bowl" can come out, as can the basket. They are all coated with oil, some yellow and sticky and some black. Very dirty. Works great but desperately needs cleaned and it will not come off with soaking.

I can’t use anything abrasive on it since it’s got a nonstick surface. And the basket has all those tiny holes in it so it’s impossible to get anything inside it. I have tried sticking the parts that allowed to go through the dishwasher but it still is discusting. Any thoughts?

I got a home deep fryer for Christmas and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what type of oil to use. I heard that Peanut Oil is supposed to be the best, but don’t know the best what? Taste, health wise, calories, longevity? Any input would be appreciated.

www.deepfryerblog.com , got a few really sweet pictures of deep fryers so I decided the best way to share them would be to stick them in a video.

Hello! I would like to know how to best use the deep fat fryer I recently purchased. I tried making some tempura zucchini, but the tempura stuck to the basket and the zucchini were overcooked. Second problem: Sweet potato fries - I would like a crispy outside and a tender interior. Any ideas on how long the fries should cook the 1st time - how long for them to rest and how long for the 2nd cooking.
If you have any good websites, I will choose your answer as the best. The websites I have visited are either too vague or don’t address my exact concerns. I am looking for mainly vegetable recipes (including falafel!)
