I’m considering buying a Tefal Actifry and it got me thinking, how exactly does so little oil manage to fry so much with essentially the same results as a deep fryer?

…not the healthiest necessarily, but one that will last the longest room temperature and won’t go rancid.

I was wondering if I have to buy one of those small deep fryers for my home kitchen because I tried to make plantains (a large, starchy relative of the banana) in a skillet but they didn’t cook the way I like. What do you think?

Getting to know your Butterball Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer by Masterbuilt it’s so easy to use, inexpensive to operate and uses less oil than traditional turkey fryers.

I was looking at the Presto CoolDaddy Electric Deep Fryer. There is someone in our house who has breathing problems and I have been unable to fry for about 4 years. I really miss my homemade fried foods. I really need to know of a deep fryer you have personally used that gives off only a small odor that can be eliminated when sitting under a stove ventilator fan or one that does not give off any odor at all. Please be specific. Thanks.

My husband took the fry daddy outside so it wouldn’t smell up the house. He over flowed it and it spilled on my glass top table. I have tried Fabulouso w/bleach. Dawn dish detergent and scraping with a plastic spatula. Does anyone have any ideas? Can you help? Thanks for the advice in advance.

I have a little personal baby deep fryer and want to know what is the best oil to use in it ? give least bad odors , best cooking flavor, and healthy wise ? Can olive oil be used ?

The fryer I have is one for home use, it can be easily lifted up. There is a picture of a slightly smaller one here (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4225764/Trail/searchtext%3EDELONGHI+FAT.htm) I’ve tried just pouring it down into a plastic bottle with a funnel, but that got pretty messy. I’ve been told that pouring it down the sink is no good for the drains (is this true?). Does anyone have any good solution to getting the oil out?

Thanks in advance

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make a terrific appetizer, her Hot and Tasty Onion Rings. These are served with Betty’s Surfin’ Seafood Cocktail Sauce or ketchup. NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WORKING WITH HOT OIL, PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS RECIPE. Ingredients: 1 cup self-rising flour 1 egg, well beaten 1 cup milk 1/4 cup vegetable oil onions, washed, dried, cut into rings and separated 2 inches of cooking oil in a deep fryer or pot on the stove (I used peanut oil.) In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup self-rising flour, 1 well-beaten egg, 1 cup milk, and 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Stir completely, or blend with an electric mixer. Have your raw onion rings prepared for cooking. Heat 2 inches of oil in an electric deep fryer or a pot on the stove to somewhere between 345 degrees and 375 degrees. With tongs, dip onion rings in batter, allowing excess batter to drip into bowl, and then transfer to hot oil. You may fry several onion rings at the same time. Fry until golden brown on both sides, and then remove with tongs or other utensil and place on paper toweling to drain. When all onion rings are fried and removed, pat the upper side to remove any further excess oil. Now, place the Onion Rings on a nice serving dish, and serve with Surfin’ Seafood Cocktail Sauce. Enjoy!!!

Any suggestion on how i can make a concustion to deep fry a turkey 22 lbs for thanksgiving… we dont have a deep fryer big enough for it… but i wanted some suggestions on what to put it in if i make a bon fire outside.

We’ve used our turkey fryer a couple of times now and we’ve needed to use a little less than the maximum amount of peanut oil in the fryer. It has taken 1 1/2 - 2 hours both times to heat up the oil to fry the food. Is this normal or should it be heating more quickly?

I want to buy some things for my kitchen.
Here are my choices:
Bread Machine,
Steam cooker,
More Tefal cookware,
A food processor.
I have a deep fryer, counter top grill (useless gift)
Mixer/ hand mixer, coffee maker, and state of the art appliances (fridge/stove) and all the basics.
I DO NOT have a microwave which I did last year, but I don’t use it either.
What do you think I should buy next, why, and the pros and cons.
I really want the steamer, but I don’t know what I would put in it besides vegetables (any ideas?).
I rarely cook meat, only for my fiance.

I want a kitchen aid, but it is kind of expensive here (I moved to Europe last year), so I was going to put that on my bridal registry. Is the kitchen aid better than this Kenwood? http://www1.kenwoodworld.com/product_detail.php?cat=288&id=732
It has attachments for juicing, shredding, food processing, dicing, ice cream making and more.
I cannot pick best answer b/c they are all very helpful!!!

I just bought a Faberware spatula and was making osme nachos and it melted the plastic (its suppose to be 415 degrees), but melted like butter.

So what should I use.
I cook alot using 2 inch greese with my stainless steel pans ( I love them - theyre like mini deep fryers)

But what will withstand the heat without messing up the pan.

I have one person saying, a metal spatula will scratch and damage them and another person saying using metal in stainless steel will create a PATINA??? which they made sound a good thing.

So whos right?
What do you use with your stainless steel cookware?
