I know it gets oil really hot but will it bring water to a boil? I don’t know the temperature the oil gets.
I know water boils at 212F and fryers go to just under 400. It is harder to heat water then oil, water has higher specific heat than liquids containing oils. I want to know if it can hold a rolling boil and if anyone has used it for that purpose.
I was wondering, this sounds dumb, but do you pour the oil right onto the heating element?
Just made a a turkey, & yes you do pour the oil directly onto the heating element. To the lady that works for QVC; some people are giving bads reviews on the fryer, saying that it doesn’t heat up. I had the same problem, until I realized there are 2 markings on the control knob & I was using the wrong one, there have probably been alot of returns from people that had done the same thing.
I just received a used turkey fryer set up and plan on using it for my 1st batch tomorrow. My question is it has some pitting and I just want to make sure it will not do anything to my brew.
It was really gross and in several spots on my carpet. I tried baking soda to soak up the oil and kitty litter, but some oil still remains. I’m afraid it has ruined my carpet! Please help!!!
The oil came in a 3 gallon container, should I just pour the oil back into that container (via funnel) or what? ALSO, how long can it be stored, and how many times can it be used?
thanks!
I have a 14 1/2 pound turkey
I’ve lost the instructions, I seem to recall that it shouldn’t be more than 12 pounds but am not sure Also how long should it cook?. Appreciate any help, thank you
I saw this item at Lowes and wondered what the turkey would taste like? Anyone ever cooked with the infrared turkey cooker? If so does the turkey taste as good as fried turkey?
im trying to find the best possible place to find a turkey fryer
like to find the best possible price, without paying an arm and leg for it!
Thanks
Have a happy thanksgiving
I fried a whole 14 lb turkey, 4 whole chickens and a batch of donuts in it (at different times of course). Wouldn’t you think that some of the oil would be absorbed into the food? Or do the turkey and chickens somehow add its own fat to the oil when cooking?
I plan on deep frying my turkey again this year but dont know if I need to change the oil in it yet. I rarely fry in it but want to make sure.
I haven’t been able to figure out how to turn on the propane tank without it all leaking out and not giving me any heat. I want to use it in my deep fryer since the oil in there is a few months old. Should I just buy more oil?
Can one use a Butterball out door turkey fryer to cook a ham? How long do you cook the ham per pound?
We are planning on deep frying a 20lb. turkey for Thanksgiving, and we are very unsure as to how long we should fry it for. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
We’re looking at maybe getting a 12lb turkey, so unless its a really big, less dense 12lb one - would it fit and cook well?
I Have a turkey fryer but lost the lid and i need it tomorrow so i cannot buy one online please help! my turkey fryer has a diameter of 12 and 3/4 inches
I am thinking about purchasing a turkey fryer. But what do you do with all the grease afterward?
Safety is a concern, but I also want to know if the electric turkey fryer holds up as the gas fryer does. Pros and Cons for both please!
If so, how did they turn out?
I have a big bag of frozen wings that I am going to either bake, slow cook in a crock pot, or fry in a turkey fryer. If you fried them, did you defrost them first? Also, how did you go about using sauces? I have a recipe for a great sauce but I’m not certain if you fry them first and then baste them in the sauce or baste them first and then fry them.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
i bought a turkey fryer cuz i couldnt find a crab steamer. can i use that?
I know you measure with water in the fryer but do I put the turkey in the water frozen? Will that give an accurate measurement? Do I take the turkey out of the wrapping and stick it in the water? Will that ruin the turkey by getting water all in it? What do I do?
how long wil the fryer take to fry the turkey? We’re also baking one, but my husband just wanted to try frying on also… Thanks!
I want to fry turkey wings but I don’t want to pull out my big turkey fryer just to do them.
