I got a turkey fryer for christmas from my mother-in-law and I want to use it. I just don’t really want to make a turkey. Anyone have other things they have cooked in a turkey fryer? Can you steam veggies in it? We go camping alot and I am sure there are many great things I could cook in it. I know that my husbands friends would love some onion rings or french fries, any ideas would be helpful.
I bought a turkey fryer from sears and was wondering how many gallons of oil to buy. The bird is 15 pounds. Any help ?
We’ve used our turkey fryer a couple of times now and we’ve needed to use a little less than the maximum amount of peanut oil in the fryer. It has taken 1 1/2 - 2 hours both times to heat up the oil to fry the food. Is this normal or should it be heating more quickly?
I want to make a big batch, and the (electric) turkey fryer is the biggest pot i have, it can also be used as a steamer right?
Ok, those outside turkey fryers….. How many of you have actually used them, how long does it take to cook a turkey in one? Our son decided he was going to buy one this year and cook the turkey outside. I am a little scared to use one because of the news reports of the fires and such. Any tips will be helpful.
